Cadets in ActionCadets are constantly on the move in the Cougar Battalion from multi-level PT to tactical training, whether it is in the classroom or it is in the field, our instructors are there every step of the way. Many of the training events utilize Ft. Benning’s expansive training area and encompasses land navigation, paintball, repelling and various FTX (field training exercises). FTXFIeld training exercises are held one Ft. Benning and occur once a semester. The FTX experience allows cadets to take the skills they have been taught in the classroom and lab environment and gain hand on experience with them. MSI and MSII level cadets will experience a garrison evironment wherein they have the opportunity to train with many of the Army's leading technical training aids and environments. Obstacle courses and repelling are also offered in order to encourage team building skills and personal courage. MSIII level cadets will have a field experience wherein they will utlize the squad leading tactics and platoon leading skills learned on campus in order to complete specific missions given by Cadre. They will also complete obstacle courses and land navigation courses in order to refine their skills for the Leadership Development Assessment Course (LDAC). Land NavigationLand navigation consists of plotting known points on a map and locating said points with just the aid of the map, compass and red lens flashlight. Our land navigation sites are located on Ft. Bennning and provide different skill levels courses. PTPhysical training is an integral part of the ROTC program. It is conducted three times per week with the two days dedicated to training at individual ability level in assigned ability groups and the third being a platoon training session led by the MSIII cadets.
